All Of Us Are Dead is the new drama that everyone is currently talking about – for one, it followed Squid Game as the second Korean series to top Netflix’s daily viewership in the United States.
Now there’s another reason that show is garnering netizens’ attention.
A recent report by Korean YouTuber Lee Jin-ho highlighted that one of the supporting actors in All Of Us Are Dead – Lim Jae-hyuk – is still struggling to make ends meet despite the show's success.
According to the YouTuber, Lim currently holds three part-time jobs – a construction worker, a courier and a delivery driver, while waiting for his acting career to take off.
Lim, who graduated from Korea National University of Arts in 2016, has had one other acting gig as listed by Asianwiki.com – in the 2020 K-drama Alice.
A favourite in the show, Lim plays aspiring singer Yang Dae-su whose built contributes in helping others to escape the zombies. For this role, Lim added 32kg to his weight – 25kg of which he has lost after filming wrapped.
“Life is quite tough for him,” Lee is reported saying in his video.
Hopefully, things will get better for Lim as the industry takes note of his talent.
Like his co-stars, Lim’s rise in popularity is apparent on Instagram already – before the show premiered, the 27-year-old had 1,000 followers, he now has more than 500,000 followers.
All Of Us Are Dead is based on the popular webtoon Now At Our School, All Of Us Are Dead.
It centres on a zombie outbreak at a school that threatens to destroy the entire town.
Others in the cast are Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, Yoo In-soo and Lee You-mi.
