In reminiscent of events that unfolded in 2020, its Chinese New Year movie releases are being postponed.
As a result, two Hong Kong films that were scheduled to open at cinemas in Malaysia on Feb 9 are now postponed until further notice.
The two movies are Table For Six (starring Dayo Wong, Stephy Tang, Louis Cheung Kai Chung and Ivana Wong) and Chilli Laugh Story featuring actors Sandra Ng, Ronald Cheng and Gigi Leung
GSC Cinemas informed of the postponement via Instagram stating: “Due to Covid regulations in Hong Kong, two Hong Kong movies are now postponed until further notice.”
Table For Six and Chilli Laugh Story were originally scheduled for release on Feb 1 before both films were moved to Feb 9.
Chinese New Year period is when Hong Kong movies experience one of its best box office results.
While the two titles are shelved, Malaysians can still enjoy other festive titles at cinemas as there are a number of local CNY movies playing at our cinemas.
