Happy birthday from one Tennessee songbird to another.

Miley Cyrus posted a video clip on Instagram that shows her getting sage advice from Dolly Parton, who turned 76 on Wednesday (Jan 19).

“Aunt Dolly, I think you’re hair is ringing,” Cyrus says on that snippet from her series Hannah Montana, where Parton played her aunt between 2006 and 2010.

Sure enough, Parton, unravels a ringing cellphone from her blond locks and offers Cyrus an explanation.

“When your pants are as tight as mine you gotta’ have somewhere to put your phone,” Parton responds.

Cyrus, who turns 30 in November, captioned that video clip “One of the many invaluable lessons learned from @dollyparton Happy Birthday Aunt Dolly!”

Parton posted a photo on Instagram showing her with shorter hair and wearing a tight pink outfit that has a high-rising skirt and a low-cut top.

“Just hangin’ out in my birthday suit,” she wrote.

Singer Loretta Lynn also got in on the act on Wednesday.

“She’s my mountain-sister and understands what it is to come to Nashville from the mountains and sing from the heart!” the Coal Miner’s Daughter singer tweeted. “Happy birthday, @dollyparton. I hope this is your best year yet!”

Parton also got social media birthday wishes from funnyman Jimmy Fallon, social media star and former basketball player Rex Chapman and singer Reba McEntire.

“I will always love you,” McEntire tweeted. “Hope you’re taking the day off from workin’ 9 to 5!”

The 9 To 5 singer claimed in February 2021 that she had twice been offered the Presidential Medal of Freedom but wasn’t able to pick it up. Parton said the first time she declined the honour was due to her husband being ill and the second time, she didn’t want to travel during the pandemic. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
