From video games and anime to music and movies, K-pop and J-pop are clearly having an impact on societal trends.

According to a report by the UK's University Council of Modern Languages released in 2021, Korean language degrees, as well as degrees in Japanese, have significantly increased between 2012 and 2018, The Guardian reports.
