Indian actress Priyanka Chopra has made a name for herself in Hollywood ever since she starred in the hit procedural Quantico in 2015. It looks like she's taking her career up a notch this month with the release of The Matrix Resurrections in which the 39-year-old beauty stars opposite Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Priyanka's lifelong No.1 fan, her mother Madhu Chopra shared her happiness on her daughter's success on Instagram recently. Madhu posted a photo of Priyanka and herself all glammed up for premiere of The Matrix Resurrections in San Francisco on Dec 19.
"Celebrating the dedication you’ve shown on the way to this achievement. You’ve earned every bit of the success. Heartfelt Congratulations and Best wishes for the launch of Matrix and all your future endeavors," Madhu wrote.
In The Matrix Resurrections, Priyanka plays the older version of Sati (the young Indian girl who first appeared in 2003's The Matrix Revolutions).
In a recent appearance on the talk show The View, Priyanka shared joys and challenges on working with her co-stars on the Matrix 4 shoot in Berlin:
"My first day of shoot was saying all the lines I had in the movie in front of the entire cast (during) sunset. So I had 45 minutes to say those words in front of all of them and I was shaking ...To see Keanu and Carrie-Anne wear their Trinity and Neo outfits and walk on the set. My 16 year-old self was so tickled," she said.
Priyanka, who celebrated her third wedding anniversary with husband Nick Jonas on Dec 1, is set to star in the Russo brothers' Citadel alongside Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci.
The Matrix Resurrections opens at cinemas nationwide on Dec 22.
