Singer Siti Nordiana is in full support of the white flag movement.
The 37-year-old said the movement could be a means to lend a helping hand to those who are facing difficulties due to the on-going pandemic, and even reach those who may feel disinclined to ask for assistance.
“There are many who feel depressed right now, and I think the white flag movement could be a way for them to go on living as some might be reluctant to ask for help,” Nordiana told MStar, The Star’s Malay portal.
“If they raise the white flag, maybe the neighbours would notice and come to their aid.
“If we know any of our friends who are facing difficulties, we can come to their aid,” Nordiana added.
The #benderaputih (white flag) movement, which has been making its rounds on social media since Monday (June 28), aims to help those in dire need of food and essentials.
The initiative has been getting tremendous traction from the public on social media, with many Malaysians supporting and pledging to help as much as they can for those in need.
“I also have the Skuad Prihatin Siti Nordiana, which I am carrying out with my fan club members, which aims to help those affected by the pandemic.”
Nordiana has released an album titled Hasbi Rabbi with Ustaz Sharizan Daud, which features five spiritual songs – two new tracks and three classic numbers.
“I hope the listeners can get a peace of mind while listening to the album, and open their hearts to remember God always, ” Nordiana mentioned.
