Actress Siti Saleha is the recipient of this year’s Malaysia Model Star Award, given out by the Asia Model Festival at Seoul, South Korea.
As Saleha couldn’t go to Seoul to receive the award due to the pandemic, the festival got the award to her.
She shared the good news on Instagram.
The 30-year-old told StarLifestyle: “I am so grateful for this recognition. It’s my first international award.
“In life, winning isn’t something that happens suddenly regardless in what industry you are in. It is something that you mould from the very first day, every day, develop the skills and talents. And I have been doing that since I joined the industry.”
The model-actress first rose to fame in the acting industry after the 2011 drama Nora Elena, co-starring Aaron Aziz and Zul Ariffin. She started her drama stint in 2008 and has been working steadily in films, on television as well as on stage. Her latest drama is titled 7 Hari Mencintaiku 2.
Besides acting, Saleha is an ambassador for many international brands including for beauty products.
Asia Model Festival has been held since 2006. It is involved in cultural exchanges in the modelling, fashion, beauty and entertainment industry in Asia.
The event’s organising committee is part of South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Last year’s winner in the same category was Malaysian model Amelia Henderson.
