Ex-TVB star Kathy Chow, 53, shuts down netizen asking why she has no kids

Chow, who was one of the top TVB stars in the late 1980s and 1990s, is single and happy.

Kathy Chow Hoi-mei, one of the most popular TVB actresses in the late 1980s and 1990s, is pushing back against society's pressure to get married and have kids.

Chow, who frequently posts updates about her dogs on social media, recently shared photos of her celebrating her furry friend's birthday.

A netizen then commented (translation by 8 Days): “Why don’t you have kids, since you’re obviously so full of love (for your dog)?”

The 53-year-old responded: "What does that have to do with you?"

Later, during a live stream session on Nov 8, she was asked why she's still single.

“So what if I'm not married! Am I not living life then? I’m living extremely well (and happily)!”

The Plain Love actress also shared some words of encouragement to a 31-year-old viewer who feels pressured to get married.

“I'm almost 54 this year, and I’m still unmarried, what’s wrong with not doing so? We should learn to love ourselves, and stop caring about what others have to say.”

Chow is still acting actively, having branched out into Mainland China in recent years. She starred in the 2018 hit Chinese period drama, Ashes Of Love.
