Singer Noryn Aziz originally planned to tie the knot with businessman Shaik Rizal Shaik Sulaiman on Oct 25.
All that changed when the conditional movement control order (MCO) was announced on Oct 12, taking effect from Oct 14 to 27.
Noryn, 43 and Shaik Rizal, 48, made the decision to bring forward her big day to the evening of Oct 13, just hours before the conditional MCO came into effect.
"We wanted our family and friends to witness this beautiful day," she said in a press statement.
"So when we made the decision, we had less than 24 hours to prep. We made the arrangements as quickly as possible."
Noryn added the wedding was a close-knit affair, attended by only 30 guests. She also ensured physical distancing SOPs were observed throughout the ceremony.
The couple first met early this year. "We got to know each other as business partners initially," she recalled.
"Our relationship was completely professional. But as time went by, I found that Rizal's presence always puts me at ease."
The jazz singer was previously married to politician Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah between 2010 and 2018. They have a son together.
