It might have been his birthday on Sept 12, but it was RM who gave out a present instead of receiving one.

The leader of K-pop supergroup BTS, Kim Nam-joon, better known as RM, donated 100mil won (RM351,000) to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Foundation in South Korea. The money will be channeled to producing art publication that will be distributed to libraries and schools in South Korea.

“RM showed his willingness to support the art field, saying he derives a great of inspiration from art. He added the art books could reach out to teenagers unfamiliar with art museums," Youn Bum-mo, director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, said.

Last year, RM also donated money to help hearing impaired students to mark his birthday.

He donated 100mil won to Seoul Samsung School to help students receive music education.

A school official was quoted saying: "RM made the donation, expressing his will to help students with hearing difficulties enjoy music through various means."
