After spending close to a month at the hospital, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan finally tested negative for Covid-19 and was discharged on Aug 8.
The 44-year-old shared he and his father Amitabh, 77, first tested positive for Covid-19 on July 12. A few days later, Abhishek's wife and actress Aishwarya Rai, 46, and their eight-year-old daughter, Aaradhya, also tested positive.
"A promise is a promise! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE!!! I told you guys I’d beat this," the Dhoom star broke the news on Twitter and Instagram.
"Thank you all for your prayers for me and my family. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati hospital for all that they have done."
Amitabh was discharged on Aug 2 while Aishwarya and Aaradhya were cleared of the disease on July 27.
In an earlier tweet, Abhishek revealed he still remained at the hospital due to "comorbidities" (having more than one condition or illness present at the same time) but did not specify further.
