The NYAFA awards ceremony, which is one of the highlights of the festival, is set to take place on July 1 in New York City.
The FFA has yet to announce a date for its awards ceremony. However, it is likely that the event will be broadcast via Facebook Live, as all FFA ceremonies have been suspended since April.
Boboiboy: The Movie 2 previously won two awards in Russia’s Laurus Film Festival for Best Photo/Poster and Best Trailer/Teaser.
Released last year, the film – which tells the story of a teenage boy with superpowers who is fighting to protect Earth alongside his friends – is also one of the most successful Malaysian animated films to date, grossing RM29.5mil at the box office.
This makes it the second-highest grossing animation film after Ejen Ali: The Movie.
