Just hours after prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin delivered the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package on March 27, and introduced us to the now-viral "Makcik Kiah", singer Ayda Jebat dropped a music video with a character bearing the same name.

"Makcik Kiah" was used in the PM's speech to represent the everyday Malaysian working hard to make ends meet during the movement control order (MCO).

Makcik Kiah, who resides at the Desa Tun Razak People Housing Project (PPR) and sells pisang goreng for a living, was used to illustrate the types of benefits she would be eligible for under the economic stimulus package. For example, having a household income below RM4,000 qualifies her for the RM1,600 aid.

Her husband, a retired government servant-turned-e-hailing driver, will also be given additional pension and e-hailing cash aid. Meanwhile, her child, a PTPTN loan borrower, will save RM1,200 with the deferment in PTPTN loan payment for six months.

On the very same day, Ayda premiered her music video Duduk Diam Diam, encouraging people to stay home during the MCO.

Duduk Diam Diam comprises a family of four - Sis Popo, Diva AJ, Tok Abah and of course, Makcik Kiah - all played by Ayda.

"Is this the Makcik Kiah the PM referred to in the news?" one netizen commented on her portrayal of Makcik Kiah, who dons an apron and wields a soup ladle.

"Wow, you work fast!" commented another on the timely release of the music video.

Was it purely a coincidence? Check out her music video and judge for yourself.
