From the same director and writer as Gu Family Book (starring Lee Seung-gi and Suzy Bae), Where Stars Land is the first Korean drama filmed at South Korea’s Incheon International Airport.

The story revolves around the airport staff, ranging from security to passenger service, and the work and personal challenges they face. The drama gives us a glimpse into the inner workings of an airport, and explores relationships between friends and colleagues.

Lee Je-hoon, 34, plays the straight-laced Lee Soo-yeon from passenger services who has recently joined the team.

In a recent press conference held at the airport itself, the stars shared about their experiences and role in the drama.

“The role I play is like an elite newbie in the department, but he actually has a big secret. He tries hard to hide the secret and just wants to live a normal life,” said Lee in a transcript provided by ONE HD.

“He is also a problem-solver of various incidents that happen at Incheon Airport. That is his duty.

“(But my character) also experiences a lot of inner conflict and pain, and wonders how long he can go on like that,” explained Lee further.

Chae Soo-bin, 24, stars as Han Yeo-reum, an absent-minded, accident-prone employee at the same department who struggles to do well at her job.

“The rooftop of the airport is not normally a place we can visit. I got to see it and was surprised by how pretty it was,” shared Chae.

The drama also stars Lee Dong-gun as Seo In-woo and Kim Ji-soo as Yang Seo-koon, Yeo-reum’s and Soo-yeon’s superiors.

Where Stars Land airs every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8.10pm on ONE HD (Astro Ch 393).
