Comedian Nabil Ahmad is not ashamed to admit that he has Yusry Abdul Halim to thank for his stint as the new host of HBO Sentral.

The 31-year-old entertainer takes over hosting duties from Yusry's actress wife Lisa Surihani, who is currently pregnant.

“Thank you Lisa for getting pregnant. Thank you Yusry,” he said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Nabil also revealed that it was Lisa’s idea for him to become the new host of HBO Sentral.

“Actually, even if she didn’t ask me to try out, I would go for it behind her back. I’ve been planning with Yusry for him to get Lisa pregnant so I get to be the new HBO Sentral host,” he joked.

Apart from HBO Sentral, Nabil also hosts entertainment programme MeleTOP on Astro Ria (Ch 104) and chat show Malam Ini Kita Punya on Astro Warna (Ch 133). Most recently, he won third place in Astro’s comedy talent show Maharaja Mega Lawak.

“With HBO Sentral, fans can see that I’ll be doing something different. Based on my experience as the only solo comedian doing stand-up comedy on Maharaja Mega Lawak, I believe I have what it takes to keep the fans and HBO viewers entertained.”

HBO Sentral is a monthly Bahasa Malaysia programme showcasing HBO’s latest entertainment line-up. Season Two, premiering on April 26, will have a new theme — HBO Sentral #Raikan Anda!

In each episode, viewers stand the chance to win exciting prizes such as exclusive merchandises and premiere passes.
