It might be difficult for you to secure a place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but you can experience a bit of the magic for yourself at the new Harry Potter New York shop that will be opening on June 3.

With a pandemic going on and travel restrictions still in place, you will need an invisibility cloak to be able to sneak into the premises.

But for all the law-abiding Muggles out there, fret not - a sneak peek is available on the shop’s Facebook page.

This is the world’s only Harry Potter flagship store.

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling, which also spawned a movie franchise.

At Harry Potter New York, there will be a huge model of Fawkes the Phoenix gazing down at you when you enter the store.

You can’t pet him, but when you find the big boots of the half-giant, half-human Hagrid elsewhere in the store, you can step into them!

There is also a London phone box where you can attempt to magically transport yourself to the Ministry of Magic. No promises that it will work, so you might want to tap into your powers by getting yourself a wand from the selection of over 50 at the store. Among them is the Golden Snitch wand, which is exclusive to Harry Potter New York.

Scattered around the store are enchanted keys which you can scan to bring the magic to life. Personalisation services are also offered; you can engrave a wand, embroider a robe or emboss a journal with your name.

This store - offering three floors and over 1,950sq m in size - is said to have the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts merchandise under one roof.

Drop by the House of MinaLime to view a gallery of graphic art of the Wizarding World.

And what visit to any Harry Potter world would be complete without a taste of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, chocolate frogs and other sweet treats?

Now if only we could transport ourselves to this shop in New York with a wave of our wands! Be gone, Covid-19!

In the meantime, check out the store official website here.
