The Ismail Zain exhibition currently running at Galeri Petronas in Kuala Lumpur, despite taking its name from a work by the late artist it pays homage to, is not a retrospective show.
Instead, Al-Kesah: Homage To Ismail Zain explores an artistic reinterpretation of his legacy through the works of 22 Malaysian artists. This show comes 25 years after his untimely death aged 61 in August 1991.
