EYEBROWS often tend to be overlooked, but a pair of well-groomed brows can open up the face in a way no other facial feature can – even without make-up. Here are a few simple tips on brow grooming.
Your best tool for creating beautiful brows are good tweezers, preferably with a flat and slanted tip.
Tweeze your brows first thing in the morning, before your shower. Any redness or swelling will then have a chance to subside before applying your make-up.
To create a natural arch, always tweeze brows from underneath the brow, never from the top. Pull hair out in the direction it grows.
If you have a few long unruly brow hairs you should avoid tweezing them. Instead, trim them with small scissors. Brush the hairs upward and cut only a little at a time.
To keep your brows in place, you can use hair spray or hair gel. Apply with a mascara wand or brow brush and comb hairs into place.
Use a charcoal grey or brown eye colour as a brow powder to fill in any gaps, then blend with a brow brush. This gives the brows a more defined and soft look.
To create lift in the brow, apply a light shimmery eye colour just under the brows along the top of the brow bone. This will help create larger eyes and define the arch of the brow.
