MY 1998 Toyota Corolla 1.6SEG makes a loud squealing noise each time the engine is started. The squealing continues for about another three to four minutes and then goes away.
The first mechanic I consulted changed the fan belt, but the noise returned after a few days. The second mechanic merely re-tensioned the fan belt but the noise returned the next morning.
