SINGAPORE: Singapore's non-oil domestic exports rose by 68.4% in September from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday, a sixth straight month of growth above 20%.

The expansion was driven mainly by non-electronics, primarily the exports of structures of ships and boats, but electronic exports also surged.

The export figure was higher than the median forecast of 32.2% growth in a Reuters poll.

Electronics exports rose by 107.6% in September from a year earlier, and non-electronics shipments were up 54.2%, Enterprise Singapore said in a statement.

Shipments rose to nine of Singapore's top 10 markets, with exports to Hong Kong rising 112.1%.

In August, Enterprise Singapore upgraded its forecast for growth this year in non-oil domestic exports to a range of 14% to 16%, from 3% to 5%. - Reuters
