KUALA LUMPUR: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 October 2026, further strengthening their strategic collaboration and providing ACCCIM members with broader access to financial solutions, advisory services and business support.

Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to support ACCCIM members’ regional growth and sustainability ambitions. Leveraging its regional network and sector expertise, UOB Malaysia will provide relevant financial, business and wealth advisory support to help members strengthen their competitiveness and address their evolving needs.

The MOU was signed by Dato’ Looi Hei Tyng, Deputy President of ACCCIM and Mr Beh Wee Khee, Country Head of Commercial Banking, UOB Malaysia. The ceremony was witnessed by Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, President of ACCCIM and Datuk Ng Wei Wei, CEO of UOB Malaysia.

ACCCIM President Datuk Ng Yih Pyng said that businesses today face growing challenges in financing, cross-border operations and market expansion amid an increasingly dynamic global economic environment. The collaboration with UOB Malaysia will provide ACCCIM members with a more comprehensive platform for financial and business support, helping them strengthen their cross-border capabilities and explore new growth opportunities in regional markets.

Datuk Ng Wei Wei, CEO of UOB Malaysia, said "Building on our longstanding collaboration with ACCCIM, this partnership reflects our shared commitment to helping businesses navigate change, strengthen their competitiveness and seize opportunities across ASEAN. As UOB Malaysia marks 75 years in the country, we continue to work alongside businesses to build resilience and pursue sustainable growth in an increasingly dynamic business environment. Beyond business growth, we also support entrepreneurs in preserving the wealth they have built and creating lasting legacies for future generation.”

ACCCIM said the collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both parties to supporting the growth and development of Malaysian businesses. ACCCIM will continue to establish strong partnerships with organisations across various sectors, providing its members with greater access to resources and business opportunities, while supporting them in enhancing their competitiveness and expanding into regional markets. - Bernama
