KUALA LUMPUR: Kinergy Advancement Bhd
has inked a subcontract with Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for a data centre electrical package valued at RM47.5mil.
In a statement, the group said it will undertake the engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of core and shell electrical infrastructure for the hyperscale data centre development in Bandar Spring Hill, Port Dickson.
The scope of the job includes high tension (HT) and low voltage (LV) distribution infrastructure, substations and switchgear, transformers, cabling, power distribution, lighting, UPS systems, EV charging and associated controls and interfaces.
Kingery executive deputy chairman cum group managing director Datuk Lai Keng Onn said the award signalled the group's growing recognition in the data centre sector and reflects the increasing relevance of its technical capabilities in high-specification infrastructure.
"Malaysia’s data centre sector is entering a significant investment cycle, with MIDA reporting MYR95.8bil in approved data centre and cloud-computing investments in 1H 2026.
"As developments grow in scale and complexity, we see increasing demand for specialised engineering and power infrastructure, creating a strong opportunity for Kinergy to deepen its participation in the sector," he added.
