KUALA LUMPUR: Lim Seong Hai Capital Bhd
(LSH Capital), which made its trading debut on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia yesterday, has ambitious growth plans including growing its market capitalisation by many fold over the next few years.
Chairman Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng expressed satisfaction with the stock’s price resilience, pointing to ambitious expansion plans under its new listing status.
“Being on the Main Market presents a bigger challenge, but my projections are very aggressive. We need to participate actively in both the private and public sectors, backed by our internal design framework,” Lim told reporters following the listing ceremony which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister.
Lim said the group has proposed several new contracts spanning highway and public-market infrastructure funding initiatives.
He outlined a bold long-term growth roadmap, targeting a RM10bil market capitalisation within the next decade, mirroring the strategic formula that drove its past expansion.
“Previously on the LEAP Market, we planned to reach RM1bil over 10 years. First I aimed for RM50mil, then RM1bil. We are deploying that same formula,” he said.
The transfer to the construction sector of the Main Market marked the completion of LSH Capital’s trajectory across all three Bursa Malaysia boards in just over five years.
Starting on the LEAP Market in July 2021, the group migrated to the ACE Market in March 2025 before securing an accelerated transfer to the Main Market roughly 18 months later following approvals on Oct 2, 2026.
To qualify, LSH Capital met stringent requirements, including a daily market capitalisation of at least RM1bil over six months, a proven profit track record, and a strong balance sheet.
Over this period, its market value expanded from RM46.2mil at its initial LEAP debut to over RM1.5bil ahead of the latest transfer.
Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said LSH Capital’s progression underscored the viability of Malaysia’s capital market frameworks.
“LSH Capital’s journey from LEAP to ACE, and now to the Main Market, reflects the different stages of growth companies go through.
“As more companies progress, it is crucial that supporting pathways remain accessible,” Fad’l said, reaffirming the exchange’s commitment to strengthening ecosystem frameworks alongside regulators.
LSH Capital made its trading debut on the Main Market yesterday, opening at RM1.78.
This was a three-sen or 1.71% premium over its previous day’s close of RM1.75.
The stock hit a high of RM1.80 in intraday trading before closing its maiden trading day on the main board at RM1.80, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM1.5bil on thin trading volumes.
