KUALA LUMPUR: OCK Group Bhd’s subsidiary, VNC-55 Infrastructure Investment Company Limited, has signed a tripartite in-principle agreement with Southern Star Telecommunication Equipment Joint Stock Company (SPN), a subsidiary of JTOWER, and Sun Phu Quoc, a subsidiary of Sun Group, to deploy telecommunications infrastructure across designated Sun Group projects in Phu Quoc.

The infrastructure will include facilities supporting Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2027, including outdoor mobile infrastructure, fibre connectivity and inbuilding coverage to support the requirements of the event and connectivity needs beyond.

Under the cooperation framework, OCK will be responsible for all built-to-suit infrastructure and fibre networks within the agreed project scope, while SPN will be responsible for in-building solutions.

Meanwhile, Sun Phu Quoc will be the project owner and developer.

The project list spans convention and media facilities, hotels, residential developments and airport-related works.

The partnership creates an opportunity to expand its infrastructure investment in Vietnam and deepen its relationship with Sun Group across multiple developments.

The total investment value for the initial phase is 13 billion dong, equivalent to approximately RM2mil, with deployment expected to be completed and the infrastructure operational six to 12 months from project commencement.

The investment period is 20 years, during which OCK will have exclusive rights to operate the BTS infrastructure and fibre networks, while SPN will have exclusive rights to operate the in-building infrastructure within the agreed project scope.

OCK Group closed unchanged at 47.5 sen yesterday.
