PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd
has appointed Datuk Johan Idris as its new independent non-executive director and chairman of the board.
The appointment comes as part of the group's planned leadership transition, following the retirement of former chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan at IJM’s 42nd Annual General Meeting on Aug 27 this year.
Datuk Lee Teck Yuen, who temporarily assumed the chairmanship during the search process, has been redesignated as non-independent non-executive director and will remain on the board.
Johan brings more than 34 years of experience in finance, audit, and strategic advisory. He served as managing partner and country senior partner of KPMG Malaysia from 2014 to 2024 and was president of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants from 2013 to 2015.
He currently holds chairmanships at Maxis Bhd and KPMG Malaysia, alongside directorships at KLCC Property Holdings Bhd and KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust.

Welcoming the appointment, IJM Group chief executive officer and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai expressed confidence in Johan's extensive corporate background.
