KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has advised passengers travelling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from Oct 2 to 4 to allow additional travel time amid expected traffic congestion around Sepang.
The airline said congestion is expected in areas surrounding KLIA and on roads leading to the airport due to the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026 at the Sepang International Circuit.
While access to KLIA will remain available, passengers have been advised to monitor traffic conditions and road closure updates from the police and use alternative routes where necessary.
Malaysia Airlines also encouraged passengers to consider taking the KLIA Ekspres to the airport.
“Passengers are advised to arrive KLIA at least three hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights and two hours before the scheduled departure time for domestic flights to ensure a smooth process,” the carrier said.
Check-in counters for both domestic and international flights close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
