Quill Group, China Mobile International explore AI, data centre opportunities in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Quill Group and China Mobile International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) digitalisation and data centres in Malaysia.

Under the MoU, the companies will explore potential projects, partnership models and customer opportunities, combining Quill’s experience in property development, construction, data centres and high-technology facilities with China Mobile International’s capabilities in connectivity, cloud services, data centres and digital solutions.

The MoU was signed by Quill Group founder Datuk Dr Jennifer Low and China Mobile International Malaysia managing director Adelyn Ong at the iSolution AI Digitalisation: Align and Reconnect 2026 event in Kuala Lumpur.

Low said the partnership builds on Quill’s experience in developing specialised facilities for technology-related businesses, including data centres in Cyberjaya dating back to 2002.

“This MoU brings together Quill’s development experience and China Mobile International’s digital capabilities. We look forward to identifying practical opportunities that can create value for businesses in Malaysia,” she said in a statement.

Following the signing, both companies will begin discussions to identify suitable opportunities and possible implementation plans.

Quill said any specific projects or commercial arrangements arising from the collaboration would be subject to further assessment and separate agreements.
