KUALA LUMPUR: Southern Score Builders Bhd
has secured a RM180mil contract to undertake the main building works for a private hospital development in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the construction group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Southern Score Sdn Bhd had accepted a letter of award from Radium Hospital Ayer Keroh Sdn Bhd (RHAK) for the project.
The development comprises a seven-storey private hospital, a three-storey car park, a utilities building and other supporting facilities at Bukit Katil, Melaka Tengah.
The scope of works includes building and external works, mechanical and electrical services, aluminium and glazing works, interior fit-out works, landscaping and other related works.
Construction is scheduled to commence on Oct 15, 2026, with the 19-month contract expected to be completed by May 14, 2028.
Southern Score Builders said the project is expected to contribute positively to the group's net assets and earnings per share from the financial year ending June 30, 2027 until its completion.
The project is considered a related-party transaction as siblings of Southern Score Builders director and major shareholder Tan Sri Gan Yu Chai are a director and major shareholder of Radium Development Bhd
, the ultimate holding company of RHAK.
Southern Score Builders director Datuk Sydney Lim Tau Chin is also a non-independent non-executive director of Radium and holds less than a 1% equity interest in the company.
