West River gets approval for power projects


KUALA LUMPUR: West River Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Neutron Power Sdn Bhd, has secured feed-in approval from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia or Seda under the feed-in tariff or FiT system for 2026.

The group, which is a provider of electrical engineering and intelligent building solutions, said the approval relates to two small hydropower projects located within Hutan Rizab Bukit Kinta and Hutan Rizab Bukit Tapah in Perak.

The feed-in approval covers the total installed capacity, net export capacity and applicable FiT rate for the two projects. The FiT commencement date for the projects is on Aug 17, 2031.

For its second quarter ended June 30, 2026, West River’s net profit rose to RM2.4mil from RM1.03mil in the previous corresponding quarter, while revenue grew to RM39.43mil from RM25.78mil previously.
