Lotte Chemical Titan says parent weighing strategic options, no decision yet

KUALA LUMPUR: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd (LCT) said its parent company, Lotte Chemical Corporation (LCC), is considering various strategic options involving the company, but has yet to make a decision.

The clarification follows recent media reports that the South Korean parent was looking to sell its stake in LCT.

“We wish to clarify that after making due enquiry, we understand that LCC is considering various strategic measures related to the Company without making any decision thus far,” LCT said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

LCT said it would make the necessary announcements in accordance with Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market Listing Requirements should there be further developments.

The counter jumped 17.74%, or 5.5 sen, to 36 sen at 2.39pm, giving it a market capitalisation of about RM830mil. Year-to-date, however, it has fallen about 8.7%.
