PETALING JAYA: Southern Score Builders Bhd (SSBB) has secured a letter of award from a local construction company to undertake sub-contract works known as “Electrical Package 3 Works” for a data centre project worth RM146.53mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the commencement date of the project shall be on July 27, 2026, with the expected final completion date being Jan 15, 2028.

SSBB said the project will not have any effect on its share capital and shareholding structure, adding that there will not be any immediate effect on the net assets per share and gearing of the company.

“However, the project is expected to contribute positively to the net assets and earnings per share of the company and its group of companies for the financial year ending June 30, 2027 onwards until the completion of the project.

“The board is of the opinion that the project is in the ordinary course of business and is in the best interest of the group,” it said.

Executive director and CEO Gan Yee Hin said the contract marks a strong start to FY27 and brings the group's total data centre job wins in 2026 to about RM383mil, underscoring clients' confidence in its execution capabilities.

“Equally encouraging is our mechanical and electrical (M&E) division's order book, which was already at an all-time high even before this contract. Its quality and depth give us clear earnings visibility for the years ahead — as at end-June 2026, the division's order book stood at RM339.2mil, excluding this contract.
