DC job drives Gamuda shares to six-week high

“The project is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of Gamuda for the financial year ending July 31, 2027 until the completion of the project,” the group said.

PETALING JAYA: Gamuda Bhd’s share price hit a six-week high as the construction giant bagged another data centre (DC) contract in Negri Sembilan from an unnamed American firm.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, secured a RM1.71bil contract to build a single-storey hyperscale DC in Port Dickson from a US-headquartered multinational technology company.

The contract involves site infrastructure works, building core and shell construction, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fit-out construction.

In a stock exchange filing yesterday, Gamuda said the works will commence in the third quarter of 2026 and are expected to be completed by the second quarter of financial year 2028 (2Q28).

“The project is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of Gamuda for the financial year ending July 31, 2027 until the completion of the project,” the group said.

Earlier on April 17 this year, Gamuda had announced another contract to build a hyperscale DC in Port Dickson, which was also awarded by a multinational technology firm headquartered in the United States.

Notably, the contract was valued at RM1.72bil. The contract, which involves similar scope of works like the one announced yesterday, was expected to be completed by 1Q28.

The latest RM1.71bil DC contract will further lift Gamuda’s construction order book, which already hit a record RM52bil as at end-April 2026.

Gamuda’s share price closed 4.75% higher at RM4.41. Approximately 24.33 million shares changed hands. It was one of the top gainers yesterday.
