K-One to sell entire GAP stake to ITOCHU for RM94mil

PETALING JAYA: K-One Technology Bhd is proposing to dispose of its entire stake in G-AsiaPacific Sdn Bhd (GAP) to ITOCHU Singapore Pte Ltd and ITOCHU Corp for RM94mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, K-One said GAP is an information and communication technology solutions company principally involved as a provider and/ or reseller of advanced cloud technology, infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, professional services capable of supporting the entire cloud services lifecycle, software development and consultancy relating to cloud computing.

“In recent years, the K-One Group has progressively repositioned and expanded its electronics manufacturing services (EMS) business towards higher value-added industries, particularly the medical and healthcare sector.

“In view of the above, the board opines that the proposed disposal represents a timely opportunity for the group to streamline its business portfolio and sharpen its strategic focus on its core EMS business and healthcare business, which are expected to be the group's principal growth drivers going forward.”
