PETALING JAYA: Semico Capital Bhd has formed a joint venture (JV) with Chan Kean Seng (CKS) to establish and operate a new family entertainment outlet (FEC) at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping mall.
The family entertainment product and service provider said the outlet will operate under a licensed brand, featuring arcade, card and prize machines, merchandise retail, and related activities.
The new FEC will begin operations on Dec 1, 2026, marking the group’s expansion into the family entertainment segment, Semico executive director and chief executive officer Tai Lee Chuen said in a statement.
Semico will inject a cash capital of RM490,000 for a 49% equity interest in the JV company, Kosmare Sdn Bhd, while CKS will contribute RM510,000 for the remaining stake.
The parties will fund a further RM3mil and RM4mil, respectively, in proportion to their respective shareholding.
“This JV represents a strategic extension of the group’s existing business activities and provides an opportunity to broaden our revenue streams,” Tai said.
He said Semico will continue pursuing growth opportunities to create long-term value for the group and its shareholders.
Semico said the JV is not expected to have any material effect on the company’s net assets, earnings per share, or gearing for the financial year ending June 30, 2027, but is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the group.
Semico was listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on Jan 13, 2026.
