NCCIM appoints Norsyahrin Hamidon as new president

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) has named Norsyahrin Hamidon as its new president for the 2026–2028 term, following the conclusion of its 50th annual general meeting.

Norsyahrin, who currently serves as president of the Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia (DPMM), assumed the top post in accordance with NCCIM’s practice of leadership rotation among its five constituent chambers.

Under NCCIM’s governance framework, the leadership rotates across its five member bodies: DPMM, the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI), the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).

NCCIM stated that this rotational arrangement underscores its "commitment to collective leadership, inclusiveness and consensus, ensuring that the diverse perspectives of Malaysia's business community are represented at the highest level of the organisation".

With Norsyahrin taking the helm, the presidents of the other four constituent chambers will serve as vice presidents.

"His leadership will build upon the strong foundation established by previous Presidents and further strengthen NCCIM's engagement with the Government, industry stakeholders and the wider business community," said NCCIM in a statement.
