KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has been named the World’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.

It marks the group’s first global recognition in the category and making it one of only two Asia-headquartered banks to receive a global award this year.

In a statement, the bank said it secured a total of 13 awards across global, regional and country categories, underscoring its performance in corporate responsibility, environmental, social and governance (ESG), diversity and inclusion, and corporate banking.

At the regional level, Maybank was recognised as Asia’s Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion, Asia’s Best Bank for ESG, and Asean’s Best Bank for Large Corporates, reflecting its efforts in fostering an inclusive workplace, embedding ESG principles into its operations, and supporting clients’ regional expansion across Asean.

In Malaysia, Maybank retained the title of Malaysia’s Best Bank for a record seventh time since first receiving the award in 2018.

It also won Malaysia’s Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion, Best Bank for ESG, and Best Bank for Large Corporates, while Maybank Investment Bank was named Malaysia’s Best Investment Bank for Debt Capital Market.

Beyond Malaysia, Maybank’s overseas franchise in Asean was recognised under Singapore’s Best for Research, Cambodia’s Best International Bank, Thailand’s Best for Research, and Best for Securities Services.

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said the recognitions reflect Maybank’s commitment to its purpose of Humanising Financial Services through values-based banking, inclusive growth and sustainable business practices.

“It is a great honour for Maybank to be recognised as a champion for corporate responsibility globally, alongside multiple regional and country-level awards received from Euromoney.

“As we advance our ROAR30 aspirations, our commitment to Impacting Society Positively remains a key differentiator, driving us to create meaningful outcomes for our customers and communities across the markets where we operate,” he said.
