Eco-Shop in improved quarterly performance

CEO Jessica Ng said the company concluded FY26 on a high note, delivering record financial performance while achieving the milestone of opening 100 new stores during the financial year.

PETALING JAYA: Eco-Shop Marketing Bhd’s earnings momentum will continue to be backed by its healthy store opening pipeline, improving operational efficiencies and continued investments in its network and digital capabilities.

For the fourth quarter ended May 31, 2026 (4Q26), the dollar-store chain’s net profit rose 45% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM72.63mil or an earnings per share of 1.28 sen. This was mainly due to price adjustments, a more favourable product mix, and the strengthening of the ringgit against procurement currencies.

Revenue increased 12% y-o-y to RM772.89mil, mainly driven by the continued expansion of the group’s store network, with a net addition of 33 new stores during 4Q26. Eco-Shop’s total store count increased from 371 stores as at May 31, 2025 to 462 stores as at May 31, 2026.

The group said correspondingly, the number of sales transactions rose 13.9% to 32.9 million in 4Q26, supported by the recovery in customer demand following the price adjustments implemented in April 2025, coupled with the different timing of the Ramadan festive period.

For the full financial year 2026 (FY26) period, Eco-Shop’s net profit rose 29% y-o-y to RM264.57mil, while revenue saw a 4.6% y-o-y uptick to RM2.92bil.

Chief executive officer Jessica Ng said looking ahead, the group plans to build on this momentum by opening another 100 new stores in FY27, while accelerating its store refurbishment programme to further enhance the shopping experience in its stores.

“At the same time, we will continue to strengthen customer engagement by rolling out our enhanced customer relationship management platform, enabling more personalised marketing and data-driven insights.

“With approximately 2.5 million members already enrolled, whose average basket sizes are significantly higher than those of non-members, we see meaningful opportunities to further strengthen customer loyalty and increase lifetime value,” she said in a statement yesterday.

Ng said the company concluded FY26 on a high note, delivering record financial performance while achieving the milestone of opening 100 new stores during the financial year.

“This reflects the strength of our scalable business model, disciplined execution and our ability to meet growing consumer demand for quality products at affordable prices.

“Despite continued cost pressures, we successfully improved margins through cost management, operational efficiencies and our strategic sourcing initiatives, demonstrating the resilience of our operating model,” she said.

Eco-Shop has declared an interim single-tier dividend of 0.60 sen per ordinary share, payable on Aug 27, 2026 with the ex-date on Aug 13, 2026.
