Binastra bags RM491mil data centre project

KUALA LUMPUR: Binastra Corp Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM491.2mil contract from Exsim Sri Permai Sdn Bhd for the development of a seven-storey data centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

It said in a statement the contract encompasses design, construction and infrastructure works for the data centre development, including the main building and associated facilities.

The project represents Phase 2 of the existing Cheras data centre project, which was awarded in February and is currently under construction.

Construction will commence on July 1, 2026, and be completed within 18 months.

According to Datuk Jackson Tan Kak Seng, managing director of Binastra, the contract is its seventh data centre project to-date, bringing its cumulative value of data centre projects to about RM2.4bil.
