Heineken Malaysia names Lo as chairman


PETALING JAYA: Heineken Malaysia Bhd has announced that Datuk Iain John Lo will be appointed as chairman of the board, succeeding Datuk Seri Idris Jala, effective Aug 15, 2026.

In a statement, Heineken Malaysia said Idris will relinquish his role as chairman and director in accordance with best practices under the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance framework issued by the Securities Commission, which advocates a nine-year tenure limit for independent directors.

“Idris will continue to support the group as adviser effective the same date.

“The board and management recorded their sincere appreciation to Idris for his leadership and significant contributions over the past nine years.”

Meanwhile, Heineken Malaysia said Lo is a seasoned Malaysian corporate leader with over three decades of experience across the energy, banking, and telecommunications sectors.
