Bank Islam issues Ditrolic Energy sukuk

The bank said the issuance is part of a sukuk wakalah programme of up to RM300mil established by Ditrolic Energy.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has successfully issued the first RM150mil tranche of Ditrolic Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd’s sukuk wakalah programme on June 5.

This marks a milestone in Malaysia’s growing renewable energy sector and demonstrates the continued market appetite for syariah-compliant sustainable financing.

In a statement, the bank noted that the issuance is part of a sukuk wakalah programme of up to RM300mil established by Ditrolic Energy, an integrated clean energy company.

“It will also strengthen the company’s working capital flexibility to accelerate growth and execution of its pipeline as it expands its footprint across South-East Asia.” — Bernama
