OCBC Malaysia bags top sustainable finance accolades

KUALA LUMPUR: OCBC Malaysia has secured a series of regional and international awards recognising its role in sustainable finance, infrastructure financing and syndicated loans.

The banking group, comprising OCBC Bank (M) Bhd and OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd, won the Project Finance Deal of the Year at the Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Finance Awards 2026 for its role in the RM7.5bil Murabaha term facility and US$1.7bil offshore term loan facility for DayOne Data Centres.

The bank also received the Transition Fuel Deal of the Year award for its involvement in the construction financing facility for the Pengerang Biorefinery project, a joint venture between PETRONAS, Enilive S.p.A and Euglena Co., Ltd.

At the Banking & Finance Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2025, OCBC Malaysia was named Green Deal of the Year – Malaysia for its participation in a financing transaction involving Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

In addition, the bank was recognised as Syndicated Loan House of the Year – Malaysia at the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) Awards 2026, reflecting its performance in originating, structuring and executing syndicated financing transactions.

OCBC Malaysia managing director, senior banker and head of investment banking Tan Ai Chin said the awards highlighted the bank’s capabilities in project finance, loan syndication and sustainable financing.

“We are honoured to be recognised by leading industry publications and associations for our continued leadership in delivering impactful financing solutions, particularly in project finance and loan syndication, green financing and sustainable infrastructure development,” she said in a statement.

“These accolades reflect the enduring trust our valued clients place in us and reaffirm our position as a leading sustainable finance partner.”
