SunCon's Johor data centre substation contracts rise to RM865.6mil


KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has secured additional work for two data centre-related substation projects in Johor after accepting change orders from a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the United States.

In a filing on Wednesday, the group said its wholly owned subsidiary, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, accepted the change orders on June 17, 2026, for project services requests that were originally awarded on April 21, 2026.

The projects involve the construction and completion of substations for two data centre developments in Johor.

“The aggregate contract value of the works has increased to RM865.6mil, following the acceptance of change orders amounting to RM664.4mil,” SunCon said.

As at June 17, SunCon Group had secured RM4.2bil worth of new orders in the current financial year, including the latest change orders, bringing its total outstanding order book to RM8.8bil.

Trading in SunCon shares was halted at 9 am on Thursday and is scheduled to resume at 10 am following the announcement.
