KHPT secures structural components supply contract for Proton

PETALING JAYA: KHPT Holdings Bhd has secured a letter of acceptance (LOA) from Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton) for the supply of automotive structural components for a new Proton model.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the national automotive parts manufacturer and supplier said the LOA is expected to generate an estimated revenue of approximately RM155mil over the contract period and shall remain valid throughout the model life of the vehicle - unless extended or earlier terminated in accordance with the terms and conditions of the LOA.

Under the LOA, KHPT said it will manufacture and supply selected automotive structural components to support Proton’s vehicle production requirements.

“The production will be carried out at the group’s existing manufacturing facility in Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor.

“This LOA reflects the group’s continued participation in the domestic automotive supply chain and reinforces its long-standing business relationship with Proton,” said the company.
