PETALING JAYA: Sum Technology Bhd’s unit, Sum Technic Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM20.46mil contract from K Test Malaysia Sdn Bhd to design and build a Class 100K, ISO 8-certified clean room facility at the latter’s Ipoh Pengkalan plant in Perak.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Sum Technology noted the project involves the construction of secondary steel support structures with walkable ceilings, conductive electrostatic discharge vinyl flooring, liquid nitrogen piping systems, dual oil-free compressors and the submission of approvals to local authorities, including the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).
The project is scheduled for practical completion by Feb 28, 2027, with a 12-month defect liability period.
Sum Technic will receive a down payment upon acceptance of the letter of award and is required to provide a performance bond equivalent to 5% of the contract value.
K Test Malaysia is involved in outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services and is a unit of South Korea-based K Test Co., Ltd.
