KUALA LUMPUR: Southern Catalyst Sdn Bhd (SOCAT), a Ministry of Finance inc (MOF) company, has launched Nexus Sedenak, a 2,940-acre integrated innovation district with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM15bil.
In a statement, the firm said the project will transform the former Ladang Air Manis plantation into a future-ready industrial, logistics and investment hub within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
Nexus Sedenak is envisioned as a next-generation economic ecosystem integrating industrial, logistics, commercial, residential and lifestyle components.
The development is designed to support a diverse range of industries including advanced manufacturing, logistics, Agri-Tech, Food-Tech, green technology, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and other high-value sectors.
SOCAT chief operating officer Mohd Shahreza Maswan said it aims to establish Nexus Sedenak as a regional industrial and supply chain hub that connects manufacturing, logistics, technology, talent and investment.
"By integrating industrial parks, logistics infrastructure, commercial centres and future-focused industry clusters, we are creating a platform that strengthens Johor's role as a gateway for regional and international trade."
Meanwhile, Invest Johor chief executive Natazha Hariss said Nexus Sedenak will play an important role in enhancing Johor's industrial competitiveness, facilitating supply chain integration, creating high-value employment opportunities and supporting the state's aspiration to become a leading investment destination in Southeast Asia.
