Tanco receives UMA query after sharp drop

KUALA LUMPUR: Tanco Holdings Bhd has received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia, following a sharp decline in its share price yesterday.

The stock hit a limit down, falling 29.56%, or 47 sen, to RM1.12 with 30.49 million shares traded.

Over the past five trading days, the counter has declined more than 36%.

In a reply to Bursa Malaysia’s UMA query, Tanco said it is not aware of any new or material corporate developments relating to the business and affairs of the company and its subsidiaries, which had not been previously announced, that may account for the trading activity.

“There are presently endeavours at the stage of being discussed or negotiated, for which announcements on this will be duly made at the material time once such matters become more definitive or are finalised and confirmed,” it added.
