KUALA LUMPUR: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd’s group chief executive officer (CEO), Euan Smith, has stepped down after six years with the company, including more than three years at the helm.

Astro said that with the platform transition well advanced, it is timely for a change of leadership at Astro to navigate the business moving forward.

Smith joined Astro in April 2020 as group chief operating officer and CEO of TV before being promoted to group CEO in February 2023.

Pending the appointment of a successor, Astro has named Henry Tan as interim group CEO effective June 16, 2026.

Tan served as Astro’s group CEO from February 2019 to January 2023 and will oversee the group’s overall leadership, performance and operations.
