Duopharma secures RM155mil government contract

PETALING JAYA: Duopharma Biotech Bhd has secured a three-year contract worth approximately RM155.3mil from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to supply recombinant human insulin products and reusable insulin pens to government healthcare facilities nationwide.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the pharmaceutical company said its unit, Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd (DMSB), had accepted the letter of award that the contract will run from June 3, 2026, until June 2, 2029.

The award covers the supply of recombinant human insulin 100 IU/ml penfill and refill products, including short-acting, intermediate-acting and premixed insulin formulations, as well as reusable insulin pens.

Duopharma said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings moving forward, while the contract is effective.

It is required to furnish a performance bond of RM2.59mil within 30 days of accepting the award.

The company added that the contract will be financed through internally generated funds and short-term trade facilities, and is not expected to have any material impact on its share capital or gearing.
