PPB Group appoints Kuok Meng Xiong as group MD

KUALA LUMPUR: PPB Group Bhd (PPB) has appointed Datuk Kuok Meng Xiong as group managing director (GMD) effective Sept 1, 2026.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the conglomerate said Kuok, currently a non-independent non-executive director on the PPB board, will succeed Lim Soon Huat, who retires as GMD and from the board, effective the same date.

"Kuok is the managing director of Kuok Brothers Sdn Bhd and an alternate director on the board of Kuok (Singapore) Ltd.

"He held various senior leadership roles in the Shangri-La Group and led the development and oversight of multiple integrated hotel projects across China, Southeast Asia and emerging markets,” it said.

The group added that Kuok also founded ASEAN-based venture capital firm K3 Ventures, backing technology and innovation-driven companies globally.

He is currently on the boards of Tuya Inc, the Malaysia-China Business Council, the Anglo-Chinese Schools Foundation and OceanX Education.

The filing said PPB also appointed Jeremy Goon as non-independent non-executive director effective June 4, 2026. Goon is FFM Bhd’s chief executive officer and director. FFM is a PPB subsidiary. - Bernama
