KUALA LUMPUR: Pan Merchant Bhd
’s wholly-owned subsidiary PMI-Technology Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract worth RM26.49 million from REI OOE Consortium Sdn Bhd (ROC) for the Sungai Rasau Water Supply Scheme (Stage 1) development in Selangor.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the solid liquid filtration engineering company said Gamuda M&E Sdn Bhd notified ROC on the appointment of PMI as the nominated supplier for the supply, delivery, supervision of installation, supervision of testing and commissioning of filter press and ancillary equipment for Process Package 2.
"The Sungai Rasau Water Supply Scheme is a strategic water infrastructure development aimed at improving long-term water security and addressing growing water demand across Selangor.
"As one of the state’s key water treatment projects, this Stage 1 development is expected to supply up to 700 million litres of clean water daily to the Klang region, and an estimated increase of up to 20.9 per cent in water reserve margin, thus ensuring sustainable water supply for the local population,” said Pan Merchant.
The award marks another milestone for Pan Merchant's filtration and dewatering solutions business and the group's position as a trusted provider of mission-critical process equipment for Malaysia's water infrastructure sector.
Pan Merchant managing director Wong Voon Ten said the award reflects the confidence placed in the group’s technical capabilities and proven track record in delivering specialised filtration and sludge dewatering solutions for large-scale municipal water treatment facilities.
"The award is expected to contribute positively to our order books, and we look forward to more projects to come from the growing investments in Malaysia's water and environmental infrastructure sector," he said. - Bernama
